Why I don't see you blaming and name calling the government and the employers and stop blaming the illegal immigrants that are here just to look for work and a way to feed their families. REAL AMERICANS DO NOT ATTACK THE POOR, but the core of the problem.

Your problem is you are focusing on the "immigrant" part rather than the "illegal" part. For a majority of us fighting illegal immigration, all we are saying is "follow the legal procedures for immigrating here and pay into our system as we do to support your benefits you gain while here!"

If they did that, they'd be LEGAL immigrants and be entitled to at least minimum wage rather than the "I can get away with paying you pennies" wage because they can't get protection from the law.

What you fail to see here is that not all illegal immigrants are Mexican- or even hispanic, though the majority come from Spanish speaking countries. And there are white Mexicans, if you have ever traveled to Mexico, you would know this. They come from all walks of life, and not all are poor and uneducated.
And while it feels right to let everyone in because they are poor and looking for a better life, resource wise it is not a smart decision. Even the richest of countries has a limit. While the government and business owners bear a large part of the blame here, the blame also goes to people who have chosen to come here illegally. And their choice has affected every facet of American life. We can not allow millions of people to enter illegally, unchecked, and unscreened simply because we fear people in denial of the problems it causes will call us racist.

My grandparents and many members of my family immigrated to America . It was a long process but they are here LEGALLY and have always worked hard and paid their taxes and never caused trouble. So my question is "If an uneducated farmer from Brazil with 3 kids and a pregnant wife can go through the system and get his proper documentation to come to America and become a good citizen, then why can't everyone else?" This country is full of imigrants who have made it a great place to live and we need to preserve that.

Why do illegals attack poor US citizens by calling them lazy? Why do they not see that they are stealing opportunities from them? We do blame the government and the employers also, and I don't see how it is that you haven't noticed. As for attacking the core of the problem, shouldn't illegals be at home doing that very thing instead of complaining to people who don't owe them anything?

Know the cause-not just the symptoms is good.

I don't really believe it is a race issue with most-they are just feeling the symptoms-like some feel a bad case of the flu.

Work on those symptoms and it might be better for all.

You are correct about the government and employers. But the people too have a choice about breaking laws-they too are accountable (even though their reasons are better). Wrong is wrong don't gloss it over. Doesn't mean you hate them-just you want them to be the best they can in every way. Doesn't mean we are better-we all have flaws that we need to work on. But we need to quit making excuses and justifications for them.

Not every American's disapproval of illiegal immigrants is race based. I am a black woman but I have some issues with illegal immigration - the cost implications for taxpayers like me who end up impacted by higher costs for medical care, for public schools, for other services etc.

I would never "attack" the poor, and while I do understand trying to make a better life for one's family, illegal immigration is also impacting the ability of Americans to get jobs. For example, in the construction trades in California, more and more workers are Mexican immigrants, many of whom are illegal. In New Orleans, Mexican laborers, many of whom are illegal are outnumbering American citizens.

For every illegal immigrant hired in construction there is an out-of-work American carpenter, laborer, painter, or plumber. For every illegal immigrant hired in any service industry job that is one less American citizen who is working. What about their families and the fact that they are citizens of this country?

I don't harbor any resentment toward any race of people, having experienced the pain of racism myself. Mexicans are not the only race of people here illegally either but in the illegal category they make up a higher percentage which is why people are singling them out. I think it's wrong to single out illegal immigrants by race, but I also have a huge problem with people who come to the US illegally - which is "the core of the problem."

Since illegal isn't a race, blaming the illegals isn't racist, retard. And we do attack the gov't and employers. But obviously the actual root of the problem is the illegals, since they have a free will. They make the choice to come in here. We just give them an incentive.

Although I respect your sentiment and applaud the message you are trying to convey to the masses, you must consider the bad and the good of illegal immigrants. They drive the cost of housing up, because they are willing to live two to four families deep in one house designed to hold one family. They don't pay any federal taxes, which is what supports medicaid, who in turn have to pay the hospital bill when they show up for medical care. They don't pay a majority of local and state taxes, yet the utilize public facilities which cost me more every year. A lot of them committ crimes and the get a special privileges, so we can send them home where they are given their freedom even quicker, because they didn't committ a crime in where ever they came from. Yes they keep some things cheaper, but at what long term cost? Besides when they had their little rally, i didn't see one American flag.

Are they poor because of their race? or are they poor due to their lack of education.
No we here in America blame everyone but the individual for their circumstances. We blame their race, their neighborhood, their political affiliation, we blame their parents, we are society that loves to spread around the blame rather than face up to the consequences of the poor decisions WE MADE.
And the best part of all this, is we have spent the last few decades spreading this blame and therefore have created a country full of irresponsible people who feel they are entitled to whatever they want just because they exist and because someone told them that everything is someone else's fault.
What to do, well why don't I just blame you? Is that logical?
Here is a new word to put in your vocabulary, well actually it is two words: PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITY

Once again there is an overwhelming response for it's a legal issue not a race issue.
Just face it Woody your argument is smoke and mirrors and you have still not given one good reason why Mexican Immigrants should be able to break our laws and bypass other Immigrants waiting in line and doing it the right way.

Whoa! you got 17 thumbs down in my post, a new record!
