All else fails.... drop back and punt!

Chapter 7 anyone?

If you only have 5k in debt that's past due. Just take one at the time and pay what you can. Sooner or later you'll be done with it. There is no quick solution unless you win the lottery. But do not begin gambling trying to win it big, you'll just end up in more debt. Open a savings account. Every time you want a coke, pack of cigarettes or whatever you really can do without, take a dollar amount equal to the amount of the desired product, out of your pocket and put it in a box. At the end of the week, take all that money and put it in the savings account. When you get enough to pay off a bill, PAY IT OFF!

Increasing your credit score will be achieved once the debt is paid down.

wise words: pay it off! If you can't....go to a debt consolidation program. If you go to a reputable one, it wont look bad on your credit report. I dont think anyone aside from family members or friends who will lend you the money. No bank is going to lend 5,000. out to someone with awful credit. can you get a family member or friend to take a loan out in there name and you pay on it? That's about all you can do. It wont go away..trust me.

Unfortuneatley I don't think there is a quick fix. The credit score is used to predict future account conduct based on previous account conduct. You'd have to keep all of your accounts in shape for a while to get it changed.

You can go to "specialist" lenders who will offer you the money to consolidate but you will have to pay high interest on it.

If you own a home you can refinance to consolidate.

I write a blog on the subject of credit management, mortgages, real estate trends, etc. Check it out for more information that may be helpful.

Ask the Consumer Credit Councilling Service for help, they will sort things out for you without the need for a loan. Good luck.

I would start by reading books and websites aimed at correcting your own credit history as opposed to paying someone else. Here is a link below.

I do too, and me and my husband together have only about 3,000 in debt but no one will give us a loan cause of our liitle and bad credit.... so we are paying each of our credit cards one by one (6 actually) and settleting directly ( for less ) with the creditors.

What you fairly want is to modify your spending conduct, not borrow extra money. you may replace your life through contacting or interpreting some thing through Dave Ramsey. He replaced our lives perpetually. No scams both. common valid help. attempt it.
