Only God can truly change a person from that. Nobody can change him. And then when God changes him, he has to want to be changed and touched by God.

Many things could cause such a change. Having what some call a religious experience can do it. Near-death experiences have been known to shake people up and make them reconsider their values. Some people's lives have been changed by books they have read that resonated with them, or a movie or play that "spoke" to them. Falling in love could do that. Getting the medical attention one has needed for a long while could, too.

Men do that. And so do some women. The least little thing can cause this. Did you know that hatred is so close to love, closer than any other two emotions? Think about that.

Too much alcohol. lol
Or perhaps it was never really hate. Could be the girl was seen as "out of his reach." Sometimes you hate what you can't have. Something could have happened to change his view. Has she shown interest in him recently? That may very well have forced him to admit his true feelings.

I have seen two things do this, one, soul gripping agony, a suffering so deep that they rethink their life, and if they make it through it without becoming a drunk or addict, they become alive. Number 2, a near death experience where their life flashes in front of them and the truth of themselves scares them into love.
