I am really without belief in gods.

People who don't care are either agnostic or apatheistic.

I truly believe in No God. But let me just clarify this point. I do not believe in a god that is omniscient, omnipesent and omnipotent. Also, I do not believe in things that transcend the realm of science. Hope that helps.

If they are truly atheists, then they actually believe that there is no God.

Some agnostics and some believers don't care. I stopped caring when I was still a believer, then became an agnostic who doesn't care.

Care? CARE? Look around you at the world that IS - get your head out of the clouds and your dreams of immortality and maybe you'll see just how beatiful this world is. This is MY heaven. Living things are not fleshy bags housing imaginary souls but rather incredibly intricate products of chemical evolution. Can't get your head around that? Try harder. If you spent more time actually educating yourself about what we KNOW about creation than reading the mythological fictions of a bygone era than maybe you might appreciate it more.

If I just didn't care, I wouldn't call myself an atheist, I'd call myself an agnostic. Yes, I really know that there are no gods.

Believing in the Judeo-Christian God is no more valuable to me as believing in Isis would be to the average Christian. It's something you understand other people do, but you can't for the life of you imagine why.

I don't believe in God. I don't know that he/she/it doesn't exist; that is impossible to know for sure.

I certainly care. I've asked God many times to give me a sign of his presence. If he is up there, he has kept quiet so far.

I do not believe in a god. I don't think he exists. It's probably the same attitude that you have about the norse god Thor or the old greek pantheon.
