Don't know if he would have been NEXT. I believe if he hadn't been struck down with cancer when he was, he would have won the world title already. I was lucky enough to see him twice at Wembley during the masters. He was a real player. He will be missed.

Paul Hunter, was probaly one of the most naturally gifted player's i have seen in the game of Snooker.
I personally don't think he would have won World Championship with in the next two years, but he would have done, let's say over the course of maybe 6-7 years.
RIP Paul
You were and still are a LEGEND

I don't think he would have won it, He just didnt seem to kill players off though he was a world class player, just lacked something. I think the next champ will be mathew Stevens, I would love to see him win it and dedicate it to Hunter with them being such good friends

Unfortunately we'll never know.....but yep he was a talent a showman and charismatic.
.....next World Champ....watch players from the far east, China, Korea etc etc.........they have no fear...NONE.....get ready for global domination.
Still hope Jimmy White will win it one day but fear not!

Hard to say if he would have been the next, but he certainly would have won it at some point in his career. He will be sorely missed.

I don't know nobody does but what I do know is that he was a fabulous player and a thoroughly decent man.
