ok so there is this guy that is already pretty shy and i met him about 2 months ago. well, actually we used to kind of hang out when we were really little. now he is a pro racer and im a journalist and while i was at a race i had to interview him and since our families knew eachother him and i hung out for a little bit and stuff. his mom was talking to me while he was racing and saying how he is pretty shy and doesnt really pay attention to most girls because they arent into bikes but she thought it was cool because i race too. so since he lives in my town, we have kept in touch by myspace and calling eachother. we have been trying to go riding together- he came up with that idea he leaves me comments that are flirty with winking smileys. then i flirt to but when we are talking on the phone he seems like excited when i call him but he doesnt talk that much. his mom has called me a couple times to ask if i wanted to go watch her sons races and stuff. he flirts and everything..i dunno...

ok so just so you know...he and i are both 17. and he calls me and stuff...and he flirts on the phone to and at the last race he was smiling the whole time i was around him and then while his parents were talking he kept staring at me. ...what do you think? i really lk seriously like him...i dont want to look stupid and say hey your an awesome guy i like you and then he says umm ok an thats it ya know?

He likes you. There is no doubt about this. He doesn't show off his feelings to you because he is shy and fear of the possibility of getting rejected by you.
Now, you need to decide whether you wait for him or go after something else. I see a good prospect here because his mom called you to hang out. Its positive that his mother know his son's feeling toward you.
I believe that a guy who rush into things will not lasts. Your shy guy maybe shy at first, but later when he sure of his feelings for you, he will give you the world if he can. In short, its up to you if he worth the wait or not.

It sure sounds like he's into you, but if he's too shy to ask him out, you're going to have to do the asking.
Go to a race and then ask him if he wants to go get some dinner or something like that. Keep it casual and friendly, not rushing into a date or anything. Most people are afraid of rejection and so if you want to take a chance, you're going to have to be the brave one and speak up. If things work out, you can give him a hard time about not asking you out later on! ;-)

Sorry, I think he's just not that into you. I think if he were, he'd take more initiative when it comes to calling you and asking you out.
You said "when i call him"--he should be calling you around half the time. You also said his mom is asking you to attend his races. That's stuff he'd be doing himself if he were really into you.
I think he's using "shyness" as an excuse. He's got the initiative to be a pro racer, so he knows how to go after what he wants.

You two need to talk. He is likely scared of rejection. He may be afraid of scaring you off. He could be REALLY nervous around you. In your eyes you are probably being as forward as possible (going to races, chating, phone calls). Let him know, verbally, that you are interested in an actual "date". He may not talk much but to some men actions speak louder than words.

what are you saying, who are you dating him or his mom and why is his mom all in the mix he is an adult and if he wants to be with you he will let you know and if he is shy why don't you ask him is he shy and would he like to go out make the move and see what's what and keep his mom out of the business because when all is well she will feel like she can just bud in .

He likes you. Equally importantly, his mom likes you too. You have a good chance of having a succesful long term relationship. Take it slow and enjoy. He is shy and it will just take time for him to mature and be comfortable expressing himself. Be gentle and teach him how.

well he could be into you and just really shy, you might just go for the plundge and ask him if he is. other wise he may not be and you could wind up looking stupid for thinking he does when he doesn,t!!!!
