At the Greenwich Meridian (longitude zero), the Tropic of Cancer is in Algeria. Moving east, the line crosses northern Africa, passing through Libya and Egypt before cutting through Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Oman.
After crossing the Arabian Sea, the Tropic journeys through India, Bangladesh, Burma and southern China until it hits the Pacific Ocean, making a guest appearance across the island of Taiwan. On the other side of the Pacific, Mexico is the first stop. It clips the tip of Baja California and cuts across the sparse mainland, slicing through the Bahamas before crossing the Atlantic. The Tropic makes landfall in West Africa at the disputed territory of Western Sahara, traverses Mauritania and northern Mali
