It could mean so many different things. If a woman is wearing a ring on a different finger or hand then it could just be a ring she likes to wear. Even rings worn on the 'wedding finger' can't always be assumed to be romantically linked rings. I wear a ring on my left ring finger that belonged to my grandmother and a "promise ring" on my right ring finger. It all depends on the woman I guess. But if you approach them or they approach you then chances are it's not an engagement ring.

The official reason for engagement type rings to be worn on the right hand is because women don't need men to feel complete. This does NOT mean they are opposed to a relationship or marriage; it just means that they don't need it to feel like a true woman.
Any finger except the right ring finger (or any ring except a diamond, officially) either mean nothing or have a personal meaning.

European and Asian countries wear engagement and wedding rings ont he oppostie hand, also some ladies move the rings around due to rashes or irritation if they wear it too long on just one finger. Then some wear rings for fun, some take them off to fool around and some carry them to slip one to ward guys off, and then even to attract the players. So my answer is....who the heck knows what runs through the minds of the female?! I don't. So if they are flirting or giving you attention, that means they like you, so go ahead and engage them in witty banter, and if you wanna know if they are married or engaged, just point to the finger and say, "That's a nice ring, are you married or something?"

Unless it is a diamond on her left ring finger, it doesnt mean anything. I have a nervous habit of slipping rings on and off, so if that is what you are noticing, that doesn't mean anything either, except maybe the girl likes you!

I personally like to wear rings on either hand. I do wear my mom's wedding ring on my left hand because it is special to me. I think you are okay to approach a woman who is wearing a ring on the opposite hand then the "wedding hand/finger"

Women bring this up all the time about men. But, I've seen women loose the their panties within minutes of offing the ring. Walk away if they give you all this ambiguous stuff. If they aren't wearing a ring....go for it. If they wanna play games, point it out...they would... Ask..."hey babe, whats up with the ring collections" if she gives you a flakey answer.....then she's flakey.

It's a pretty piece of jewelry. The ring means nothing if it's not on the correct finger on the correct hand, unless she's trying to fool you and shifts it to another finger so that she can cheat. In that case, run, because if she'll cheat on one, she'll cheat on another.

It could mean - stay away. Or welcome. Some men and woman crave the opposite sex that is wearing a ring - others do not.
Why not just ask the person. Or ask Jeeves if you want a real answer.
