It can get in through and open wound, after surgery or leg ulcer for example, mrsa can be treated there is so much hype about it, it is only really dangerous to the frail elderly and people with low immune systems through an illness, also if someone has mrsa which is air born in the nose or sputum for example is can be passed on if they sneeze or cough, 80% of people have mrsa without knowing it

Usually through the blood. Those most vulnerable to infection are those who have recently had operations. The combination of the open, healing wound for the germ to get into, and the fact that the person's run down and therefore slower to react to infection, makes it relatively simple for the germ to get to business.

Couple this with the disgusting conditions in UK hospitals, and the fact that (when I've been sitting in wards talking to grandparents) none of the doctors or staff used, or encouraged visitors to use, the alcohol gel that is provided for everyone, its no surprise there is a problem over here.
