Hinduism centers around a variety of practices that are meant to help one experience the divinity that is everywhere and realize the true nature of the Self.

What makes you think that Hinuism lacks a uniting belief system? They believe in a god with different aspects, just like the Christians. Of course, no gods really exist, but that doesn't matter. It is the common belief that unites them.
