Do you clip up sections of your hair and work layer by layer? I separate my hair into three sections, the bottom layer, middle layer, and then the top layer. Then I pull all the hair to the front on both sides of my shoulders. This makes the back hair much easier to reach. Depending on how thick your hair is, you will need to separate it into more layers. One of my friends has very thick hair, and she separates it into 8 layers.
Also, blow-dry your hair before you straighten it, so the hair will be more straight to begin with. Remember to blow-dry in sections and brush your hair through as you blow-dry. Straightening comes with practice. The more you straighten your hair, the better you will get at it. Don't straighten your hair too much though, because that could damage it.
Good luck!

If you are really having trouble pulling the hair on the back of your head toward the front and straightening it that way, you could always bend over. That way you not only get the back section of your hair but you also get the underneath side, which makes the hair straighter all around. Also, as mentioned before by others, be sure to blow dry your hair, and you could use straightening sprays or gels (I would recommend Bumble and Bumble, it doesn't leave residue and makes your hair shine without looking greasy). Also use a clip to clip up a section of hair, start with a small section at the bottom, let a little hair down, do just the top layer of that new section, let a little more down, do the top layer of the new section, let a little more down... etc until you are at the top layer. Not only does it give your hair a little more volume but it also keeps it straighter for a longer time. Good luck!

Divide your hair in half on the center of your head.
Divide one section of hair into another half from top to bottom
Clip the top of the section
Pull the very back portion of your hair towards you and straighten it.
Then do the rest of that section.
Repeat with the top section of hair and then the other side of your head.
I used to have a very hard time straightening my hair but I fouynd that doing it in smaller sections and just being patient as well as making sure I set up enough time to accomplish the task really got me great results. If you go to a salon to get your hair cut and they style it, ask your hairdresser for tips, they love giving them.
I also do advice getting an anti-frizz shampoo and conditioner as well as a serum:) Good luck:)

when you straighten your hair start at the back that way you do the most difficult first section by section try to pick up the hair with a comb and bring it round to the side so you are in control all the time keeping it taught all ways use protector and dont leave them on your hair the trick is to "iron "the hair quickly causing as little damage as possible hope this helps i am a hairdresser

you need to get some really good straigteners for a start, if you know of a hairdresser then ask them to get you some from the wholesalers as they are better than the shop bought ones, you need to practice, dont put too much hair in the straighteners, sort of comb your hair and as you are putting the comb through it pick up the hair with the straighteners, it will come, like i say just practice but do it first while they are off so you dont burn yourself!!! p.s use a heat protection spray always. good luck

I've got very long hair so I do sympathise.
I generally do mine in sections starting at the back and work around to the front.
You do have to take your time but with a bit of practise you'll get there.

I do mine in sections...But mine isnt that hard to do since its naturally pretty straight--it just gets a little out of line when i sleep on it wet. You could always go get it professionally straightened..its like a perm, only they straighten it instead of curl it. If my hair was really wavy I would do that.
