I want to dye my hair the closest color possible to my natural shade. It's a medium golden blonde now, and my natural color is a darker brown. I've used drug store brands before, but they all seem to fade.

Now I want to know, which brand is the best if I want the color to last the longest?

Experience is definately helpful.
Please don't answer if you're just going to say go to a salon. I'm not going to sit in a chair for 2 hours with stuff in my hair...

L'Oreal Excellence is the best. I used it for a few years in the past and it lasts about 3 months. What you also need to take into consideration is how fast your hair grows.

I like the Herbal Essences. I just colored my hair back to a natural golden brown. Now, for the fading, you'll want to invest in a color treated shampoo and/or conditioner. They really do help, they aren't as harsh as regular shampoo/conditioners. If you notice you're color has faded or you want a boost, try the Color Glaze from Freeman (I think) they have them in Blond, Red and Brunette. You put it on in the shower leave it on for 2 minutes and rinse, it give your color a boost and gives it shine. It washes out with a few shampoos, they recommend you use it 2 -3 times a week I'd say (from experience) 4 times works well. It's not permanent or even semi permanent. But make sure you wash your hands it will stain them.

Good Luck.

Well i worked at CVS Pharmacy for a very long time and they have come out with some pretty good stuff lately but if thats not what you want to do still then go to a place called Sallys or if you dont live around Georgia then whatever place they have around there that will sell salon products to individuals!!!

I use L'Oreal Couleur Experte, it's the dye kit with highlights, and the color lasts for months. I only have to re-dye when my roots get too obvious.
