Hey "I LOVE JESUS", yeah, there are "choices", and the CONSEQUENCES of making the WRONG choice are being sent to Hell and suffering forever.

That IS a punishment.

And if I were a deity I would NOT be so pompous as to think that my creations, with all their intelligence and complex reasoning skills and ability to look beyond their primative fears and live life without needing my help, would NEED to worship me.

In fact, I'd be proud of those who didn't feel the need to cling to my leg like a quivering 4 year old. I'd be extra fond of the independent ones, the strong ones who could survive and flourish unassisted.

God is very kind, magnificent, understanding and all forgiving.
If He sees...you are innocent, unaware, nobody tell you, or haven`t heard about the existence of God...He won`t punish you of course.
Slowly, He will introduce Himself (God) to you through all the blessings you will receive, magic, miracles, other people witnessing, talking about God, let you all see all the wonderful things going on in this world, sending missionaries to you, teachers of churches, inviting you to many activities, church services, and many more ways.
If you still ignore Him...He will send you wake-up call (harships in life, diseases and death of your loved-one in your family), draught, famine, no rain or no sun in your region, or any nature or calamities...that makes you instinctively ask God`s help, as only God can command the nature to favor you as He pleases.
Until such time that God is convinced that... you intentionally...don`t want to accept, honor, praise, thank and ask for Him that...he can`t do anything else except to vanish you from His world and give you your accorded treatment of an ungrateful non-existent citizen of His.

If man is created by God's image according to the bible then I would say yes. But that's a conflict with God's punishment for non-believers.

God doesn't have a conscience. Conscience implies a struggle between good and bad; moral and immoral; right or wrong. By definition, God is a perfect being, incapable of bad, immoral, or wrong thoughts or feelings.

Well phrased. Thank you for using the word non-Theists. Not insulting like most of the Christians on here.

i dont believe in eternal punishment....think there is Misunderstanding of some verses...gehenna was where the Bodies were burned....why make someone immortal just to suffer? It makes no sense. Hell is the grave...then you may be human temporarily to face judgment then thrown back to death or a quick burn of the flesh

No! I wouldn't be as merciful to unbelieving sinners if I was God.

Shalom

Just as I like free-thinking, mischeivous children, I think I'd much prefer save people that DIDNT worship me at every turn. People who questioned things.

If someone blindly followed and arrogantly acted superior to others, I'd question their being in heaven, belief or not.

Yes. I would still love them even if they wouldn't believe in my existence.
