I have always had acne...the zits come and go. But this one on the side of my face near my ear will NOT got away. I have tried everything. It never forms a head its just big and red and swollen and it hurts when i touch it. I occasionally will pull the excess skin off of it so its not so flaky--but i never pick at it until it bleeds. Any suggestions or am I stuck with this stubborn beast for life??

Also, try putting ice on it for a couple minutes every hour or so. I find that this makes my acne come to a head. It is also said that ice will kill the bacteria, making the acne go away faster.

Here are some suggestions, from someone who has tried them all:

-- toothpaste
-- neosporin
-- Clean & Clear zit zapper stuff
-- Neutrogena zit zapper stuff (preferred method)
-- carrot juice (100% pure pressed carrots) just chug the stuff and I have found that the Vitamin A really helps my skin. This is a daily thing... take at least one serving daily, it provides you with 700% of your daily RDA of A.

The worst thing about zits like that is that they will sit there being all red and horrid for a few weeks, then die down, then grow into a huge pu ssy mess that swells up half of your face. I've found the neosporin helps to at least reduce the swollen, worst part of it and it helps with scars too.

Perhaps you should just make it bleed and use the neosporin to get rid of the infection and mark?

just wanted to say- you're not the only one. I've had a problem with mild-average acne for a couple of years now. i tried everything- i must have tried at least 70 different soaps and creams the last 3 years, this autumn i gave up and i went to a dermatologist- the best thing I've ever done. i now use a mild soap and cream night and morning- my face has completely cleared up. ANYWAYS... to answer your question- you know this may not even be a zit, since you've tried everything and nothing helped. but have you tried tooth paste? it usually works for me. also if its really infected get a disinfectant cream and apply it on over night. hopefully i was to some help?

buy a clay mask that contains sulfur.

try queen helene mint julep masque (drugstores, target, walmart for $2-3) a very popular and well-loved mask. dab a spot of it on zits without rubbing it or anything and leave it on overnight. the next morning, it should shrink in size, become less noticeable, or disapear completely.

or u can use proactive refining mask. both works just as well.

i used to get those when im stressed. so maybe ur just stressed. try meditating every night like i do when i get stressed out. they only pop up when im stressed so when i calm myself down and take a break for some "me" time, it never appears.

good luckkk! :]

Philosophy has a zit zapper called "on a clear day" works like a dream. You can find it at Sephora.com
A cheaper alternative is toothpaste. The old school white pasty kind.

Try using hot water on a wash rag and keep it on it. The hotter the water the better. Do this everytime you think about it. It brings it to the surface of the skin somehow. Has always worked for me.

That sucks.
Okay, try putting eye redness releiver and hemmeroid cream
(both) to the spot. This should take out the redness because it takes out the redness of zits too ^^.

Stop touching it. The oil on your fingers will most likely irritate it. Or maybe it's just a skin infection. Go see a dermatologist maybe.

That sux! I have that same problem with a pimple on my nose. Have you tried using a warm cloth to bring it to head? I tried that with other pimples and it actually works. Good luck with that...
