Your daughter is the Correct age to learn to ski.
Children have little fear and they learn quickly.
Just be sure to protect the child from the wind and the cold...Use warm clothing on the child.

Most hills will take them at 3 for skiing. Snowboarding they want them to be 5 or 6. We don't live near a hill at the moment but both of my kids (almost 3 and 5) cross country ski!

I'd be a perfect age. I know some ski maniacs who had their kids on skis at 2 and 3 years old.

I have heard of kids this age learning to ski. Be sure to take her to a ski instructor who is trained in teaching children, though. That way, you know she is well taken care of and will learn things appropriate for her age and build. Most ski lodges offer these classes. Also, at this age, do NOT take her off of the bunny slopes. 4 year olds still don't have 100% control of their body or great balance, and anything steeper or harder could be very dangerous.

Not at all! I started at that age and I'm so glad I did, because I am very good now. Just make sure she gets age and level appropriate equipment, etc, and if you're enrolling her in a class, make sure it's for young children. Don't expect too much at first--even just walking with skiis could take a while to learn.

no, and most moutians have a program called ski wee, this teaches kis between the ages of 3 1/2 (kids have to be out of diapers) to 7, after that they are allowed on the level one (color code green) with their parent or gardian. at around 12 the child is allowed on the level one slopes with out a parent/gardian and can do level 2 (color code blue) with parent/gardian. at the age of 14 they can do any slope they want themselves, but be careful, the resorts dont wach all the slopes and your child could want to try a leve 3 (color code black) and end up getting hurt.

Absolutely not!!! I have friends that started learning at age 2! I myself started at age 6 and I wish that I had started earlier. The earlier you start them, the better they will be. Congrats to you for getting your daughter into a fun, athletic, and potentially lucrative sport!

No,. this is the perfevt age to teach your child something that will improve her cordinantion skills...just start on the "bunny hills" My 20 month old son has been ice skating since his 1st birthday, he loves his lessons & has exceptional motor skills compared to children his age in part due to skating, we can't wait to put him in ice hockey next winter. Have fun

I think that your 4 year old child is way to young to learn to ski. Because if she gets hurt or anything it will be all your fault. so if you want you child to get hurt go ahead and let your child ski.
