You can apply for a pell and or loan,. However the deadline has passed for Spring..you might be able to get a loan. I would wait until Fall. Then you will have time to fill out the FAFSA and get it back, etc. and maybe a state grant if you get it in by the deadline. Your advisor does NOT have to pay your bills..that is not her place to tell you when to start. It's her place to help you when you start. If you really want to go in the spring, take a course or 2, and then work or get on the ball and fill out the FAFSA...it will take 3-4 weeks to get it back and then the school processes it...you still won't get your money until mid semester. (If you go this spring)

Sometimes you can take additional money out on your student loan to cover rent and bills while you are in school. You'd have to talk to your financial aid councilor about how to do something like that.

I don't recommend going that route, but sometimes when you are trying to make it as a student in a place where the cost of living is sky rocketing, that is your best option.

You can also do what a lot of college students do, work multiple part time jobs to just barely scrap by, while getting little sleep, and less of a social life than you wish you had, but sometimes you have to sacrifice either money or fun. Neither is an easy decision! Good Luck!

I worked during the nights the whole time I was in undergrad and graduate school. Also, you can take out a private loan (sallie mae has ones with low interest rates) to help you pay your bills. The one I used was through Sallie Mae and it was called a Signature Student Loan. Your school has to approve it by saying that yes, you are enrolled, but other than that it's not connected to your financial aid. Also, see if you're qualified for work study. If you are, that's also a good way to make money for living expenses. Sell your textbooks on half.com when you're done with them, also-I've made lots of money doing that!
Good luck!

You need to ask some of your family members to help you with your bills just until you get back on your feet. Or you can just start saving you money and try not to spend it until you need because right now you need that money so that what I will do if I was you.

I'm a big fan of getting a job. There are, however, numerous student loans available that you can use to pay your tuition, living expenses, etc.
