Im an american that now lives in europe, most countries here do not put ice in any of thier drinks, you actually have to ask for it. Im assuming that ice is a non european thing. you should see the looks you get when you ask for ice in the middle of winter!

I did not know that they don't do that in France, but I don't like ice in my soda because it waters it down, and I don't like it watery. Maybe that is why they don't do it either, just a matter of taste I guess.
