The person has consented, the concern is really the legal side, if I mess up, I`ve never done this procedure before

More details (sorry) I have to take the sample, not test it..if this helps..I`ve never taken a sample of hair (I believe it has to be from the follicle) this bothers me and I see this as invasive

don't do anything you aren't comfortable doing, it could come back and bite you later! don't risk your career, reputation and name for something like that!

Since you have the subjects permission (get it in writing with a witness before doing anything!!), I would go ahead and provide the sample.

From your additional info, it sounds like you're to perform the test yourself? I wouldn't recommend that if you're not a professional. Definitely take the sample and send it to someone who really knows what they're doing. Be sure to use all certified/classified methods so you don't impune the privacy of your client.

If you are not comfortable with this, I would tell the health professional to handle everything on their own. Do be sure to tell them that you will not get in the way of their investigation, only that you do not want to mess anything up.

More than anything, be sure to Cover Your A** at all times!!

Don't do it without subjects permission and ensure the subject is aware what the hair is for prior to taking the sample. The hair is their property.

hi there, bet its quiet hard for you to do it right? but hey listen, if taking the sample for this client might save him/her from contracting any disease or infection I'd rather you do it as it will mean saving at least one soul. however, if you are not really comfortable with it, I'd suggest DAT you take sometime to think it over before any problems arise. also, get more info about dis client.good luck!

i agree with the other folks so far......you cant take a sample form someone without their prior permission. they would have to be made aware that you are taking a sample and exactly what you would be testing for

You wold have to get this client's permission. At least in the US its illegal to do it without their knowledge unless you have a warrant.
