You don't say what antibiotic you're on, the only one you can't drink alcohol with is metronidazole, this is because when someone is an alcoholic, they are giving medication to wean them off the alcohol, if they drink on this medication, it will make them feel as if they been binge drinking for 48 hours, and metronidazole contains the same stuff as this alcohol substitute does, it affects about 1 in 100 people in this way if you drink on metrondazole, any others are fine, drinking on any other antibiotics DOES NOT make them work as well, the alcohol doesn't affect them

You WILL kill the antibiotics!!!
You may not kill all of them but will severely weaken their effect. This could make your infection WORSE, and possibly untreatable.

People who do not take their antibiotics properly, either stopping early or drinking, are extreme dangers to the public health, not to mention their own. This is how many diseases become resistant to treatment.

Just finish your treatment, wait a couple days for good measure, a celebrate your drunken *** off.

If you fail to clear your infection, you will have to take harsher antibitoics with more side-effects. If you are already on a strong antibiotic, like Pinicillian, and you screw up, you may never get well again. You may also infect others and create a superform of the bacteria.

I have used anti-biotics for both Lyme's Disease and Malaria (twice). It sucks not drinking, but imagine never being able to drink again because you are eternally sick.

Also your liver and kidneys may be more sensitive while on anti-biotics. You may cause them extra damage as well.

I am well informed on the issue, and though my american liberty side know better, I think it should be a crime to start antibiotic treatment and not finish, or damage the effect. It is a SERIOUS social health risk, and one of the number one reasons disease treatment gets more difficult.

PLEASE FINISH YOUR MEDS AND STAY HEALTHY DURING TREATMENT!!!!

they wont' work as well, you may also feel the affect of the alcohol.
there is one antibiotic you should never ever mix with alcohol, but the doctor will normally itterate this
although craving alcohol on a 5 or 7 day course, maybe you should be quesitoning that.
lol

even though you feel OK if you drink then the anti-biotic will stop working (as if you hadn't finished the course)and the infection will return.
Then you will need another course of anti-biotics.
Every-time they are used you build up a resistance and the next infection you get will require a stronger dose.
Is it worth it for a drink! Finish this course as you are feeling better it cant be that long to wait.

depends which anti biotics you are on.....anything from just making them less effective to making you very very seriously ill. think about it. if it says dont drink, its for a reason and not cos the pharmacist's a kill-joy. get real and wait til at least 24 hours after the last dose (as they need time to get out of your system)

It depends on the antibiotic. The bottle that you got your meds in will say on it if you are not supposed to drink while taking, if it doesn't say anything, drink away.

What are you taking them for? I think it could upset your stomach. Also, if you are needed antibiotics, you probably need to stay hydrated, so alcohol may not be a great idea. It could also interfere with the medicine.

you will be ill, probably an upset stomach, i read somewhere that if you drink alcohol whilst taking antibiotics, it makes you absorb them too fast and they don't work as they should.
