I watched the documentary on Heavey Metal: A headbangers Journey and they talked to a few bands in Norway, to the guy who was convicted of the fires and some churches...the answers were vague at best...and not all the black metal bands were satanists, they just didn't like having christianity shoved in their faces, at least that is what they said in interview.

Several members of early Black Metal bands known as the Inner Circle where engaged in church burnings and grave desecrations.

Members of Mayhem and Emperor among others were either convicted of or admitted to arson of churches.

It's only the black metallers who oppose Christianity being in Norway who burnt them. For an account of why they do it from a black metal perspective, try reading some stuff by Varg Vikernes of Burzum.

The movements of course weren't "meaningless" to the persons burning them. yet no, i do no longer think of the movements have been justified. in simple terms because of the fact a faith is packed with crap remains no reason in the back of arson. Arsonists are criminals and could be arrested. as properly, all it did grew to become into make martyrs out of the Christians. there are a number of criminal and extra effectual approaches to challenge faith. I do ask your self even nonetheless if a number of those burned church homes weren't burned maliciously, yet burned by way of the vendors themselves to assemble on coverage fraud. Why do human beings directly assume that it incredibly isn't a risk?

I heard about that. It was happening in Norway for awhile. I'm not too sure about a concrete connection, but many of the "black metal" bands were quite satanic.

Oh here we go. Are you talking about the Black Metal music? Come on metal fans are not devil worshippers. I mean heck I'm a Muslim and I listen to black metal, death metal(CC ROCKS!), heavy metal, industrial metal, and speed metal.

if you need metal, listen to The Crucified, Mortification, Sacrament, Living Sacrifice. Better music, and you'll go to heaven! it's a win-win!
