It could be anything - including some stuff that's pretty serious. You should most definitely see a doctor (preferably a neurologist).
Good luck!

,left hand, numbness in the little finger which started as pins and needles but never went, loss of strength, very achy?if they are the symptoms it sounds like CUBITAL TUNNEL SYNDROME,it starts as a trapped nerve in the arm but gradually gets worse due to pressure on it,my advice go see the doctor and they will prescribe some meds for it,ibuprofen will help with any pain but you need something to release the water pressure from the arm

Any time you have numbness that is travelling, it needs to be checked out by a physician. There are many circulatory, muscular and neurological things that can cause this. Make note of when the numbness occurs exactly, what makes it worse and what makes it better (positions, activities, time of day,etc)...that will help your doctor diagnose the condition.

Well it could be several reasons, if you goto the hospital and they perform examinations it would be better, as you said it is numb and has been for weeks, you might have a sort of infection or a disease of the nerves, which you may require medication for. Did you recently have an accident in your arm? It could be related to your ulnar nerve. Nerves may take up to 6 months to be regenerated but medication is required you should goto the hospital im surprised you waited this long.. if its been weeks.

Did you injure that area, even months ago? Do you have pins and needles? Does the quality and quantity of the numbness change?
Can you go to your doctor and get an EMG>
Do you have headaches?
Go see your doctor or get referred to a Neuro
Good luck, God Bless

It could be a circulatory problem or it may be neurological. Either way, consult your GP.
