"All foods have some calories. No food is actually "negative calorie" food. BUT the overall effect of certain foods in our body is that of "negative calories". Negative calorie foods are foods, which use more calories to digest than the calories the foods actually contain!
Calories from these foods are much harder for the body to breakdown and process. In other words, the body has to work harder in order to extract calories from these foods. This gives these foods a tremendous natural fat-burning advantage.

Negative Calorie Foods ~ Vegetables
asparagus
beets
broccoli
cabbage (green)
carrots
cauliflower celery
chicory
chili peppers
cucumbers
endive
garlic lettuce

Negative Calorie Foods ~ Fruit

The previous answerers don't seem to know that although a food may have a number of calories, it may have so much rough fiber that the PROCESS of digesting it USES more calories than the food contains. The more fiber a food has, the more energy your body has to use up in order to digest it. That's why Weight Watchers Points scale adjusts with fiber as a key variant.

Celery, water chesnuts... and the last time I heard, the huge amount of fiber in carrots, despite the fact that they have some sugar, has put them back on the "unlimited" list for Weight Watchers. I didn't verify that, but it seems plausible to me.

I hope I'm not helping some Anorexic do something stupid. There are plenty of low-calorie fruits and veggies that you can eat and still lose or maintain weight. And use a good multi-vitamin if you are dieting. Don't worry, they don't contain any calories.

Don't think apples on the list. Too much sugar.
Almost any low sugar, high fiber, high water content foods qualify.
