How do I compress video without much loss of video information? Is there any software specifically for this purpose?

in google search UHARC and then download it. this can compresss 1GB into 96.5837 MB. its very usefull and it wont ruin any of the information.

UHARC is an archiver as WinZip or WinRar. It will not help with video. You may spent hours wating to archive 1GB video file, and at the end you will have for example 0.98 GB instead of 1GB. Not a big difference. Also you will have to spent the same time to unzip it back to play.

You should use a video converting software to compress you video files.

I recommend you to convert video to DivX or MPEG4 or even WMV. Play with settings. Select the best one for your task. Remember the higher video bitrate, the higher video quality, but the higher size at the same size. Find the golden mean.
