It's not that you're still contagious, it's that they were exposed to it while you were sick and it took time for it to start making them sick. So, while you are starting to feel better, they are just now beginning to feel the symptoms of the bug they'd already caught from you when you were contagious.

Sometimes illnesses have an incubation period before they produce symptoms. They probably picked up the germ from you when you were ill but it is just now rearing it's ugly head.

The most infectioous time for most diseases is during the time you don't yet know you've got it, and during the time you're fully aware of it. You probably passed it to them while you were ill (I hope you wash your hands regular!) and it took a week to incubate in them before coming out in full.

The bug may still be alive in you and you now have an immunity to it. If it's still alive, it still can be spread to others.
