She's 11, 4 foot eleven, and weighs 79 pounds. She's been hiding it from me and my mom. I found out and she pleaded me not to tell. Do you think she's heavy? I'm 5 foot, 13, and weigh 89 pounds. What should I do? Do you think she's jealous? Why would she be?

She is NOT heavy. She is ideal weight. It sounds like your sister has an eating disorder. Tell your parents that is important, trust me. Your sister could seriously hurt herself if she continues this way!

At eleven, she shouldn't be dieting unless she's seriously overweight, and even then, it should be something she discusses with your Mom and her Doctor. If she is hiding it, then something is wrong. There's no reason to hide a diet. The healthy way to diet is to talk to everyone and have a support group on how to eat right. Definitely tell your Mom!!! Your sister may have the beginnings of an eating disorder.

well theres nothing wrong with her wantong to lose weight... she may not be happy with the way she looks, just remind her that shes her own worst critic for one and i say help her. help her find healthy diets and become involved and that way she will open up to you and talk more and you can help her stay healthy while doing this too. hope this helps...you can be a big support for her... even skinny people get great results from dieting and excercise, it would be a good thing for two sisters to do together..... take care :)

i think the reason she dont want you to tell your mom and she didnt want you to know is because most people look ad say omg she dont need to lose weight but to her she does... we all see things differently, remember that!! respect her feelings and dont just say shes a kid... shes a kid with a personality, feelings and they shouldnt be looked over or made a bigger deal than they are... good luck...
