if you can't turn it at all, then you NEED to call the doctor for some prescription meds!!! just give in & it will be much easier!!! ibu proffen just won't do the trick along with any over the counter medication. if you can't move it at all, then these products aren't going to be strong enough.

if you CAN move it a little bit, then "funkyk" said everything right... a heating pad will help A LOT!

You might want to call your doc for muscle relaxers. I know that the stiff neck hurts so bad! Heat almost always helps you relax when you put a hot pad on your neck but sometimes people prefer ice bags. You can try each andsee which helps you the most. I would want to take ibuprofen or tylenol at least for the pain. Nothing is that miserable as having that pain, is there? Good luck and hope you feel better soon!

for the most part, you have to wait for it to heal. gentle stretches can be applied.

sitting up straight, twist and lean in all the major directions
back and forward 10 times
lean side to side 10 times
turn side to side 10 times
roll head in complete circle
raise shoulders up all the way and hold
push shoulders down as low as they will go and back

sit on chair at a table, put elbows on table
put head between elbows, bring elbows in closer
hang neck comfortably for 20 seconds

hot and cold helps, pills help, massage helps

to prevent it you need to stretch and strengthen, and avoid incorrect form when exerting oneself.
