Click start then programs then look for a folder called start up if there is an icon in there for Internet explorer right click on it and delete it. If that doesn't work it gets a little harder and I don't know if I can explain it on here.

Check in START-PROGRAM FILES-STARTUP and see of IE is in there. If it is, then delete the icon to stop it starting up automatically.

You can also check the registry for an entry under "Run". There is a Microsoft technote on their support website about how to do this.

Could also be a virus/spamware trying to do this. Do you have anti-virus installed and up to date?

Cheers!
