My motivation for running early in the morning is that i think no one else is working as hard as me right now. I seem to have more energy through the day and once my run is over my workout is done for the day and I can get everything else accomplished that I need to.

I'm currently injured but I prefer morning runs to running after work in the evening. I love waking up early on Saturdays when the rest of the city is still asleep and then doing loops around Central Park. By 9 am when most of my friends are still asleep I've just run a half marathon. It's motivating just to know that I'm running and accomplishing something special before most people wake up.

What motivates me is to keep myself thin and in shape. I've been running since i was 13 and I am now 40. I always run in the mornings after a cup of coffee which gives me more energy for the rest of the day since I work full time. Also any cardio is good before you have your first meal of the day.

Every time I start loosing my motivation to run in the AM I think about my next race and how great it would be if I just went a little faster than last year. Nothing like a PR to motivate you! Also, just think, after your run your eating is almost guilt free! If you eat a lot during the day and miss your nightly run then, well, we know what happens.

I like the mornings, about dawn, because it's quiet and cool (or downright cold in winter!), no traffic and its a fine way to help me get my self together for the day. As I'm doing my morning run, I mull over the things I have to do that day. But, you know, it's funny, I might start out worrying about this meeting or this project but it seems to melt away after a few Ks (I like to run a nice easy 8 kilometer loop). After the worries go, I just glide along and enjoy the run. And the rest of the day takes care of itself.

I prefer to run in the morning because it is cooler and where I live there are less people around.
