I thought it was one of the kings of England back in the 13th century or something like that. It was invented as a way to preserve meats longer. Plus the kings liked gourmet surprises, including live birds @ their table, so sometimes they would cut into the pie & the birds would fly out.

Well Pies have been around for a long time even before the Romans came into existence pies were known to have been used by sailors for food. However, if you are talking about Pi as in the number used to find the circumference of a circle, that also has been around for a long long long time. The Chinese were using Pi before the Christ was born. It is a natural occurring number in nature and and has been found in all cultures from the Incas, Aztecs, Chinese, Europeans, even the Aborigines in Australia use it. There are tribes in the Amazon jungle who use Pi and used it before a white man was seen. It is one of those strange mysteries of the world.
