Well I am 15 and my Bro is 17 as well. We were very close when we were young, but as we got older we fought, and we weren't so close. I find now that when him and I are like playing video games we start to talk and bond more. And laugh a whole bunch as well. although my Bro can be a pain in the but some times I like how we can laugh together ^_^
So try doing stuff that he likes, or even better that you both like.
Like my Bro and I, we both LOVE video games, so we do that together. We also play soccer in the back yard as well.
Hope I could help! =D
Good luck with your Bro ^_^

Awwwww, that is so sad, don't worry tho, i have a big bro too. He's older tho. 22, and i am 15 also. Me and my brother didn't really ever get too close til he went away to college. Most of that comes with maturity, on his part, as well as yours. A little separation really lets you know how much you actually love each other. Now, me and my brother are a whole lot closer than we were when he first went to college. now he's about to graduate, and we actually look foreword to seeing each other. as you bothe mature more, things will come more naturally. But if you feel that you should try and "make the first step" (well first off, you are more mature) you can offer to take him to the movies or something, or just take some time to sit down and talk to each other. Truthfully and honestly about everything. i have found that the easiest conversation to have with my big brother is one about our parents, because it is something that we have in common. Good Luck!!!

Keeping in mind that we are born as a family, not picked out. Would you pick him out as a best friend? Probably not. Trying to stay away and give him as much room as possible is a good idea. When one of you move out will probably be the first time you can see each other in a new light. Personalities thrown together in a household are tough. Sometimes just having a serious talk is all that is needed. He is feeling like an adult probably and hanging with you reminds him he still is young. Don't mess with him when he is with his friends. Give him all the space he wants, later on he will remember this.
