Here's my reasoning regarding the existence of God:
First, you have to define the term "God." The problem with most theists is that this term is a moving target.
In addition, because there is no evidence either for or against the existence of God, you cannot use deductive logic (a+b=c; therefore c-b=a). You can only reach a conclusion by inductive reasoning using the balance of evidence (90% of A is also B; C is B, so the chances are 90% that C is also A).
I will assert (and others may shoot this down) that the only RELEVANT definition of God states that he intervenes to circumvent natural laws.
If God circumvents natural laws, then it is impossible to understand natural laws. All scientific findings would have to include the stipulation, "it is also possible that these results are an act of God, a miracle, thereby making our research meaningless."
However, since we have been able to expand our knowledge of natural laws (evidenced by every appliance in your kitchen), the scientific method works in this discovery. And the likely conclusion is that God, at least the intervening kind, does not exist.
Additionally, if God is defined as all loving, all powerful, and all knowing, then it is impossible to explain suffering. Either God is not all loving (he acts sadistically), not all powerful (he cannot prevent suffering), or not all knowing (he created suffering by mistake because he didn't know the consequences of his actions).
If God is less than these and/or does not intervene in our existence, then he is either non-existent or irrelevant. The classic argument is that I cannot prove that a china teapot is orbiting the sun directly across from the earth's orbit. But while I cannot prove this is not true, the evidence against it is compelling.
The evidence against God is equally compelling, and while it is not possible to prove beyond any doubt, it makes more sense to live your life as if there were not God.
It is more compelling to me that humans have invented God to reflect the thoughts of the ruling powers in a particular time. Because humans are always looking for reasons, when none are found, it was the natural inclination to declare the cause to be "God" (or gods). As the faith grew, miracles and laws have been ascribed to this Divinity, and an orthodoxy grows up around it.
Successful religions over the long run also are accompanied by some level of economic well-being to the populace. Unsuccessful ones are seen as false because they don't lead to improved lives.
Now it seems unhelpful to believe in such superstition. The only matters that aid in our ongoing well being are work, location, health, sustenance, and pure, blind luck.
So, I don't believe God exists. And you know what? It's okay if others do believe God exists.

your question is unfairly loaded. You cannot logically disprove something, just as you cannot prove something doesn't exist.
That's not all (or even most) atheists' position; our position is not that there is no god, but that we simply don't believe in one. Why? because there is no convincing proof.
Undoubtedly, you or another religious type will accuse the above of being circular reasonin (even though it is not), and will claim victory because I just said you can't disprove god.
nothing could be further from accurate. It is those who belief in the truth of an assertion to convince others of the truth of that assertion. Believers cannot, so the only way to avoid losing the debate is to place an impossible, incorrect, and illogical burden on the atheist. Notice, yet again, that by doing so, the believer has merely painted the atheist into a corner, but has still not proved a damn thing

I've said it before. This is not evidence or a proof. But it should be considered.
Why did the universe start, suddenly, just once?
Why are we conscious? BTW, What is consciousness?
How did things just happen to create 3 billion lines of accurate genetic information so that a living, conscious, thinking person occurred?
Do you have any answers?
There is no direct evidence, but, lack of belief is not well substantiated either.
The best evividence is Philosophy. No god = no meaning to life. Yes to God = there is meaning to life.
Take care.

there is no evidence to disprove God. People say why are there trials and disease in life...if God's a loving God why would he do that. The truth is, we brought it on ourselves. Adam and Eve disobeyed God and ate of the tree of knowledge of good and evil. Our own sin brought these things upon us. God doesnt want bad things to happen to us but when things bring us down then He's there to help us back up. Something to prove there is a God...just look around you!! Do you really think that all of this couldve happened by chance? I find it very hard to believe that things that are so complicated ((too complicated for the greatest scientists to understand)) Couldve happened from just some big bang or just appeared from nothingness? I find it very unbelievable.

The best evidence against god is that there is no evidence where there seemingly should be some, combined with the fact that in everything attributed to god, you can find evidence that they are simply natural occurances, and we can study why, without filling in the blanks with "god". It will eventually come to the point where we can know that if god does somehow exist, he apparently does nothing at all but take false credit for natural occurrences.

I'm reminded of the scene in "Contact", where Ellie and Palmer are talking about God. Ellie says she would need proof of a God. Palmer asks "Your father, did you love him". She answers "Of course", and Palmer says "Prove it."
There are things that can be proved, and things that cannot.Too, there are things that may be proved, but never believed. That's the way of man.
So, it really does come down to faith, no matter whay you choose to believe. If you believe in Science, to the exclusion of the supernatural, it is still a choice and a belief. You are choosing to believe in the unproved idea that there is no God. I guess that we're all in the same precarious predicament; there either is, or there isn't something beyond ourselves, and we'll either find out, or not, when we die.

you are alive, your are breathing, your heart beat has rythem, you have family, friends, children, .....when u look at your surrounding everything proves that yes there is someone out there who is controlling all, well human make a small machine and even that cant go on its own, a small wrist watch can't not work untill you charge it ,so how some such a great universe is working on its own??is there some sense of that?? No, this all is in charge of some one , and He is none other thann God !!! i must add that its better to believe in His existance rather then deny HIm, because you are at peace when u believ in him, see only believing that He is there, you dont have to look for the answers of many question, like the one i have mentioned.
peace !!!

Exodus 33:17-23
17And the LORD said to Moses, "This very thing that you have spoken I will do, for you have found favor in my sight, and I know you by name." 18Moses said, "Please show me your glory." 19And he said, "I will make all my goodness pass before you and will proclaim before you my name 'The LORD.' And I will be gracious to whom I will be gracious, and will show mercy on whom I will show mercy. 20But," he said, "you cannot see my face, for man shall not see me and live." 21And the LORD said, "Behold, there is a place by me where you shall stand on the rock, 22and while my glory passes by I will put you in a cleft of the rock, and I will cover you with my hand until I have passed by. 23Then I will take away my hand, and you shall see my back, but my face shall not be seen."
Another reason why God is not seen with the eyes- If a man were to see God he would die- the Lord is so bright and so full of glory- read Exodus 34 to see how when Moses came down from the mountain his face shone so bright, he had to keep a veil over his face because people could not look at him- and that was JUST by seeing the back of God....
-Not to mention creation- God indeed created it- there was a Creator, just like a building has a builder and painting has a painter.....Creation has a creator- and it is God.

The only way you can get through life, whether you believe there is a God or not, is faith. You have to have faith in a future, in reality and in yourself, otherwise the world will fall all around you.
There is no way to disprove or prove that God is real. You have to know it on your own.
