I saw on the news the other night that some Jewish people are protesting the gay and lesbian parade in Isreal and some also in New York. Its nice to know that that these people with a history of being persecuted can now set their mind on persecuting others. It does say a great deal about the hyprocracy of the human race don't you think?

Lots of angry repsponses
First off I am not gay and also I am not Jewish nor do I feel I am anti semitic my only point was that I thought with all the persecution the Jewish people have suffered for being different they would be more open minded

to ardvark 5751: honestly you really scare me. Religious fanaticism is the greatest threat to the survival of the human race in existence today. Kill in the name of God thats certainly not a Christian doctrine but I suppose it may be Islamic.

I think it is more of a protest than a persecution?

Persecution? Wow, I'm glad to know that the troubles of the world are over, and now every protest is a persecution.
Something tells me that you don't really see the whole picture, or don't want to see it. Well, here's the truth:
Jews are people. We have many different opinions and thoughts, political, moral, and social perspectives; we have dozens of inner groups that view our religion and tradition very differently. They say that where there are 10 Jews, there are 11 different opinions.
Your statement, "Jews persecuting gays", is not only unfair and generalizing (as obviously, we do not all share the same mind), it also sounds just a bit intolerant.

Homosexuality is not very welcomed in the Jewish religion, as well as in most of the religions including Christianity and Islam, and religious Jews do not tend to welcome it with open arms.
Nevertheless, Israel, the home of the Jewish nation, is considered one of the most open minded countries in this aspect. Gay people have more rights and constitutional protection in Israel than in, let's say, the USA.
The gay pride parade is marching every year in Israel (Tel Aviv, Jerusalem and Eilat) for more than ten years, and it is celebrated alongside with many festivals of "the proud week", as it is known in Israel.

The problem with the gay pride parade this year was not its subsistence, but in its route. This year the organizers decided to arrange it in the middle of Jerusalem, where many religious and ultra-orthodox people live (Jews as well as Muslims and Christians). Right in their conservative houses.
So they protested.
You are sure to see the difficulty in it, as both sides have a point. But you'll be thrilled to know that the protests did not help much to the orthodox people, as the festivals did occur.

My question to you is how did you get the point that Jews persecute homosexuals?

The orthodox Jews demonstrated not against gays but against the gay parade. Muslims and Christian religious leaders joined them in protest against gay parade stating that Jerusalem as a holy city to the three major religious should be left out from the gay agenda.

Religious beliefs in almost every religions are deeply against homosexuality. It has no connection whatsoever to Jews and persecutions of Jews in the past. It is very childish to expect that Jews should expect anything and should be tolerant to everything just because they were persecuted during centuries.

All humans act like animals.because most people are animals.because they don't have the spirit of God in there life's. especially the Jews.It seems.with them killing so many of there neighbors.there after all people just like anyone though. It takes time for people to learn decency, some people never learn about decency. I was molested sexually by a stranger.. when I still believed in Santa. I hated gays for years, but now I have a spiritual love in my heart for all people. because I became a spiritually based person. it takes time to experience life and realize things.most people never learn about.spiritual love, wisdom, knowledge, compassion. those things seem to be alien to most Jews, it seems, by the reading the papers, and seeing all they do to there neighbors.and by the way. what about some remembrance of the 8 million native Americans murdered by the white man.there was about that many when the white arrived, then there were about 250.000 at the turn of this century. pray for the Jews, they need our prayers..and condemnation.

So because people persecute us we have to love everyone? We're not killing them (although religiously, we should be killing some of them), just trying to prevent them from insulting our 1 holy city. Would it be wrong to prevent someone from going naked in the street in front of a church? That's what we're trying to stop. Go to Paris, or London, or New York. Maybe even Tel Aviv. But stay out of G-d's capital!
Also: I could say that you 'persecute' murderers.

i think you would be surprised how gay-friendly israel is. unfortunately, your post shows that you know very little about the subject of gay rights in israel. the situation for gay people in israel is arguably better than it is in many other "democratic" western nations. in israel, although gays have not yet gained the right for a true marriage they are able to enter into legally binding common law marriages that give them the same rights as any other opposite-sex couple, gay partners are allowed to adopt each others children, the israeli government does not discriminate against gays serving in the army, youths can get out of mandatory military service by by volunteering for gay rights organizations, gays are protected from emplyment discrimination and other forms of discrimination, gay couples qualify for the same family benefits as heterosexual couples, there are openly gay israeli politicians, and foreign partners of gay israelis are given residency rights and are protected from being deported just like partners of heterosexual couples. compare the rights of gay israelis to gay citizens in other democracies and personally in most cases i would rather be gay in israel than gay in other western nations.

the problem with the gay pride parade is that they want to have it in jerusalem, which is pretty much the most religious orthodox place you'll find in the world. frankly, a city like jerusalem is not ready for a gay pride parade. there is no reason why it can't be held in another israeli city.

I believe your the one who is full of hypocrisy,if we left it up to your allusion of what is right for the human race we wouldn't have a human race.Or don't you know gays can't be fruitful and replenish the earth.Your nothing but a hypocrite.Get back in your closet, clean it up,and then come on out.

If a protest is all the "persecution" that gays get, they ought to be grateful. The Jews have suffered real persecution at the hands of others. And being a Jew is one of birthright, not of behavior.

by even insinuating that the jews on the whole, or a particular jew, has done something wrong, you are an anti-semite. That's right, a type of bigotry so special and important it has its own work. *sarcastic eye roll*
