Green Pastures? 1933.

One of those with many insulting stereotypes, but a good cast, and a lot of fun.

Was considered very sentimental when produced.

I was going to answer sarcastically, "good luck!" given the fact that black actors during that period of time were only cast in the roles of domestic servants, slaves, and laborers but when I read the answer "Green Pastures" I decided to check it out on imdb. And sure enough, it was a film made during the 30s with a black cast! Amazing! From imdb...

"Plot Summary for
The Green Pastures (1936)

God, heaven, and several Old Testament stories, including the Creation and Noah's Ark, are described supposedly using the perspective of rural, black Americans."

Good luck in your search for a copy!
