My dog was humping my other boy dog?

Now his "thing" is completly out!!!!!!Does anyone know how long until it goes back in? I know when a girl dog and a boy dog are doing it sometimes they can be locked together for over an hour. What do I do? Do I call the vet?

Male dogs will do that to eachother - the one doing the "humping" is trying to dominate the other.
If his thingy doesn't go to normal after 20 minutes or so he could have a problem that needs a vet's attention.
If he is neutered - neutered males do tend to sometimes have a problem where they can't retract their erection.Just monitor it and if it doesn't improve send him to the vet.

Yes, by all means call your vet! When he/she gets done laughing then they will answer your question.....

In the meantime, get your dog neutered. Which, by the way will not stop the dominance behaviors that all dogs will display at one time or another.

Males and females will do this behavior to each other or peoples legs to establish dominance over whatever it is they happen to be humping.

The behavior may or may not have anything to do with reproductive urges. As for what you should do about the behavior.....have a leash on him at all times and when he wants to do this tell him "no"...that is unless you want to talk about what is happening.

Get him neutered, there is no reason not to neuter and spay your dogs. Take a look at the over abundance of dogs and cats needing homes at the shelters to realize this fact. Studies have shown that spaying a female dog before she comes into her first "heat" greatly reduces her risk of infections and mammary gland cancers.

And studies have also shown that letting your female dogs have a litter of puppies to let her have that "motherhood" experience or to make her a better human family protector, or so your children can have this experience, (rent a movie, it is cheaper) and then spaying her only increases the risk of mammary gland cancers to your dog.

Hey rainbow girl, that's so funny... This is a very common behavior display in male dogs... they are trying to establish they rank and usually when a dog and a ***** mate, the penis will swell and they will lock for a while... don't worry this is just like the final stage of the mating process in dogs... after a while, the dog will just lick himself and it will go back to it's normal size. I think people should take their dogs to the vet and get them neutered/spayed to avoid unwanted puppies and also avoid this type of behavior, that sometimes could be really gross.

Its dominance not sexual. All dogs hump even females will. If the dog isnt showing signs of discomfort you do nothing. If it is having problems getting back in they will usually lick it or you can grab the hand lotion and help the guy out.

that's what happens they r getting ready so just sit back and laugh but now if he gets it in the rear u should worrier about it then but as right now don't sweat the small thing cause my dog had that done but the funniest part was when he got it in a little bit my dog was after him and of course that silly gay dog ran

Have your animals neutered.

Also when they are locked, it is because the entering penis swells inside the reception area so do not EVER try to seperate two dogs that are locked. It could really hurt and/or kill the animals.

Your dogs are just establishing who is the dominant dog. It is no big deal. If you are concerned, call your vet.

my girl dog does the same thing to my other girl dog, i just say shes special, and i tell my friends my dog is a lesbian! i think its cool, until she humps me! which yes she does

just let nature take it's course. it's no big deal, all us animals have been doing these things since the don of time. there was no vet in the garden of Eden.

Sounds like nature to me. Perhaps get him a girlfriend. He's obviously horny.
