(Here he is on the link above)...anyway, I feed him the same amount as my other two cats yet he is so large. Could it just be his own genetics?

Hey my Stimpy is only 4 1/2 lbs. She's small ;but if you are really concerned, see your vet for a physical. Seems simplistic ,but though we mean well very few of us have a PHD. LUCK...

Nah. My cat is big like that too. He often gets referred to as "fat cat" or "giant cat". I questioned my vet about his weight (around 17lbs) and she said he's just a bigger cat. Sure I know he could lose a few lbs but I feed him Science Diet Light cat food. Plus Calypso is always running around with my dog and other cat. He's happy because he eats and he eats because he's happy.

PS
Very cute kitty!

He's cute. Cats have different metabolisms just like we do. I have two old cats, one is skinny, one is fat, but they get the same food and actually the skinny one eats more and plays less, so really should be the fat one.

I think he might be eating the other cat's food! LOL! I dont think he is too fat I think he is cute. I just lost my baby this past september and he was about that big. We didnt lose him due to his weight is was because of his urinary tract problems that kept returning no matter what meds and food we would give him.

You named your cat Dude? That's awesome!
He looks fine to me, different breeds have different body structures. But if you are that worried, why don't you consult a vet? He would be the one most qualified to make that analysis.

He's getting there. Maybe consider a diet cat food, lower consumption.

There aint nothing wrong with a fat cat! he looks like hes active, and if hes otherwise healthy, then i see no problem.
I love fat, cuddly kitties. They are the best!
