Don't worry about it. My kids are teens now so I don't remember what words they said when, but girls sometimes develop faster.
Also I have worked with just walking up to almost 3 for a while and most kids, boy or girl, don't choose to talk until right at or after 2. You have to pretend you don't understand at some point to force the words or they will not want to try. You know your child better than we do, so don't fret. He will get there!

My daughter just turned 16 months. She can say mama, dada, daddy, gramma (sounds like mamma), hot, more, hi, eye, bye bye, home, baby and brrr, for describing cold. She can say thank you and welcome as well, althought not real clear. She also does animal sounds; ba, moo, meow. Oh and i am sure she said Dora the other day.
lots of babbling which will turn into words soon. My other 2 children were saying more by that age.
