BUT if you're in pittsburgh anyway... there is a tattoo convention coming your way very soon!!! honestly, i'd wait until that. why? because there will be a wide variety of wonderful artists to chose from. you'll be able to look at multiple portfolios before making a decision. i wish i were so lucky as to have a tattoo convention fall in my city.

Just go thru each artist scrap book of customers and look at thier previous works all tattoo vendors have these so you can see how good their work is and plus you can tell if they have alot then their more experience

No, I've only gotten mine at Bootleg in Zanesville Ohio. But when you go, check out the shop, make sure its clean. Watch them do another tattoo or so and make sure they change the needles and all of that fun sanitary stuff. If you like their work and they are clean, go for it!

if it were me personally I would watch them tattoo a couple people. If the other people seem happy and the tatt looks good then get one. If not find another shop

Why don't you talk with the artists, look at portfolios and see for yourself? Check the place out again and ask your questions or express your concerns to them.
I'm sure there are people who have gone there who will say it was great and I'm sure people have gone there and will say it sucked.

make sure they have and autoclave, which sterelizes their instruments.
