People continue to discriminate eachother based upon religious or spiritual belief. Example: Christians and Athiests shoving their views down eachothers throats. Just face the facts: You cannot disprove God, and yet you cannot completely prove that God exists either. We need to reach at least some level of agreement or this controversy will never end. The arguments will not cease. But, all in all, that seems like a lot to ask for. Orthodox Christians and Catholics refuse to believe anything outside of their religion. Whereas Bitter Athiests refuse to let go of the fact that, at one time or another, someone tried "pushing" religion in their face. When will the CONDEMNATION end? Isn't anyone else tired of it? And my original question still bothers me, why is everyone so hypocritical?

You mean like you? Just look at your bias here:

"Just face the facts: You cannot disprove God, and yet you cannot *completely* prove that God exists either."

So you can't disprove it all at, but you can prove it, just not completely? Right. Next, look:

"Orthodox Christians and Catholics"

"Whereas *Bitter* Athiests"

So christians are "orthodox" but atheists are "bitter" ehh?

You're just as bad as everyone else, so if you want to find your answer, just ask yourself: Why are YOU so hypocritical? I'm sure the answer is in there somewhere. I mean, you should have known there was something wrong when you asked "Why is *everyone* so hypocritical?" If you can't see the hypocrisy in that question, I can understand why you can't see it in yourself, but that's still no excuse.

I think that most people walk around afraid all the time - afraid that they'll be exposed as phonies, afraid that someone will call them stupid, afraid that they're not good enough. It's silly to worry about stuff like this, but I think most people do.

So - for some people - when they feel that their beliefs, or personalities, are being threatened, they strike back - often in a way that's inconsistent with their core personalities, and in a way that betrays their dearest beliefs.

Don't give up on the human race yet, though. For myself, I have to admit that I just need a little help to get through the day from time to time. I think a lot of people are like that.

Don't get me wrong - there are bad people in the world, and they suck. And what you see on the news is going to always be the bad stuff.

Example: when Halloween comes around, there's always some scare about treats being tampered with (and I suppose it happens from time to time). People tend to forget about all the free candy.

I think people should talk more about the free candy.

First let me say, yes I am tired of it too. It is sad that in 2006 we are still fighting the same fight humans have fought for generations. Everyone wants to be "right" they don't want to open their minds to other possibilities for fear they might be wrong. They all say that they preach peace and tolerance but yet we still fight wars in the name of God. It also acts as another way for people to separate themselves from people whose thoughts they don't understand. I believe the only way we can live together in peace is by practicing tolerance of others beliefs, even if they differ from our own.

I agree with you. Everyone is a hypocrite because we are human. We are selfish, greedy people attempting to take over the world. I strive to be better than that. It seems like you do, too; or you would not have asked this question.

I guess the answer is because we are human and no human is perfect.

Because we have a problem with 'intentions'. We do things for certain purposes and claim they are others. Are we cowards? maybe! Manipulating, selfish people who are not religious enough. True religion should purify the heart from hypocracy. What is happening instead is that we even use religion to reach our goals in its name!!

May Allah have mercy on us all

Man is a social animal according to Aristotle.

Hypocrisy is derived from the Greek word for acting (as in a theater).

Therefore most people are hypocrites in order to increase their short term social standing.

Human nature. You should not let it bother you. Do you want some cheese and crackers to go along with that whine?

Dunno why everyone's so hypocritical. Maybe there are still some who haven't yet heard the thing that Jesus said about gettting the beam out of their own eye so that they can see clearly to get the splinter out of their brother's eye?
