"Mexican lawmakers passed a resolution Tuesday asking President Bush to suspend his mother's deportation and that of any other illegal immigrant parents of U.S. citizens."

Seems to me he is working under the jurisdiction of Mexican law, not that of the US, and doesn't that have bearing on the citizenship issue?

What do you think of this?

follow up question, one that truly puzzles me. Given that Elvira would flunk any screening for legalization in any event, due to the felony, why does Bush let this drag on?

I don't think the Mexican government has diddly squat to say about our laws. If she were a citizen and committed the crimes, that already would have exempted her from the most liberal "comprehensive" reforms, she'd be sitting in jail and Saul would be in foster care. She's done.....even if they passed amnesty.....she's done. She's a criminal, beyond being a criminal for being here illegally in the first place. I swear these people don't comprehend the word NO. Having a kid doesn't give anyone the right to break the law or have it be an acceptable excuse to do so. She knew exactly what she was doing and did it anyway. She alone is totally responsible for the situation she's in now. I feel nothing but contempt for her. She's no different than someone holding their child in front of them so the police won't shoot them after committing a robery and getting caught.

What Mexico does in its government has no affect at all on what the US does. They passed a self serving resolution in their country,it has absolutely nothing to do with the US laws.Mexico doesn't make US policy and they know it.Its just a floor show for the masses. In no way will it have any effect on our governments laws. Its really naive to think that it would.
That convicted criminal needs to be charged with child abuse and put in prison and /or deported.Shes a joke and she is exploiting this poor child,he ran under a table and hid when he was being taken to the podium. He only
spoke to the reporters in a small room off from the huge room he was to speak in.He was scared to death.Shes a
poor excuse for a mother to force her 7 year old to do this.

This is from the news story
Flashing cameras and swarms of reporters surrounded the boy as he entered the chamber. Lawmakers rose from their seats to shake his hand.
But instead of stepping to the podium, he was swept into a side room, where he hid his face and ducked under a table.
"I think being so small he was kind of freaked," family friend Jesus Carlin said

Even the Mexican government can't see that she hates her own country, now that's bad, they should inquire why she dose not want to stay in Mexico and help her out, so she can make a living their and have her son with her. I believe a child should be with it's mother so deport them both, because if she stays she should be put in prison for her crimes she committed here, and her son will be without a mother.

Zoe; I believe you whoeheartedly. She is taking part in this exceedingly intelligent, and you have have been given to offer her that. Why no longer rape the stupid US legal equipment slightly greater? A regulation might desire to be surpassed REPEALING "Anchor babies" precise to citizenship. they might desire to be despatched returned to their united states of foundation, alongside with their unlawful mom and dad. there's a technique for searching for legal citizenship, albeit a awful one in illegals eyes, even with the undeniable fact that it must be upheld so all of us realizes their superb threat to stay right this is to fall in line..., Make experience? it would additionally get rid of all stressful circumstances to the equipment that stamp each and every illegals case as 'specific', or 'extenuating'. the U. The government of mexico has done exactly what the mother of the boy has done which is to use the boy for political gains. It is truly sickening to me to see that happen.

I really think there are more pressing and important issues than to worry about some woman wanting to be reunited with her son....Lets consider the boy, and his needs? What is the best for this child? To remain in the US with his mother? Or both should be sent back to Mexico? How is it his fault? As a child advocate, I believe both should be allowed to stay here and they should give the mother amnesty.....And preserve the family....

Because Bush doesn't want to be perceived as breaking up a family.....He will most likely want to err on the side of the child....Despite your political views, in this country, the best interests of the child will always prevail....

Honestly, that woman has absolutely no shame! To use a kid as a pawn, a 7 year old, who should be at school and play with friends, as a performing monkey is just odious ...

And of course Mexican law makers passed a resolution ... they would pass any resolution for any reason to keep their population fed and watered in the U.S. ...

Elvira has no shame, the Mexican government has no shame ... and our elected representatives have no backbone ... sad state of affairs ....

send them both back to mexico! no, its not the kids fault, but he must realize that his mother is the criminal, and because of that , he is the one being torn from his family. I think we should abolish the "anchor baby" law
