Eating my great aunt's tamales during the holidays when I was a kid. She made the best jalapeno and cheese tamales! She ground her own corn and spent hours kneading the dough to make tamales for the entire extended family. Its been many years since she's since gone to the big tamale factory in the sky. We now buy our holiday tamales from a local lady but they are nowhere near as good!

Had a Boy Scout t
Troop and was camping atop Blood Mountain, Union County Georgia elevation 4000 ft, One of my scouts had this 3 pound can of pork and beans for his dinner and buried the can under the fire to heat prior to eating.

He then ate with the troop and forgot about the beans. About 2 or 3 am those canned beans let go and splattered our entire campsite with a liberal coating of beans. You really cannot phantom how many beans are in a 3 pound can.

Thumbs up, pretty. I have 2: My mom fixing me blueberry pancakes when I was little, and when I grew up & got married having her over to serve her a fancy dinner. She was so happy & proud of me.

I lost her 2 years ago, but those memories help me to smile through some tears. :)
