To Brad - I see that you are obsessed with Hagler switching stances. Marvin please don't listen, you will lose points like you did against Leonard.
Turpin - W 66 (KO's 45) TF 75 - W pct 88% - KO pct 60% - wins over Robinson - KO'ed by Robinson
Hagler - W 62 (KO's 51) TF 67 - W pct 93% - KO pct 76% - wins over Minter, Hearns, Duran, Seales, Briscoe,Mugabi and Hamsho[2] - KO'ed by none - #35 ranked puncher - #17 ranked fighter
Hagler by a KO in rd 11.
To toughguy - Turpin was overrated, when I looked at his record I only saw 2 names that I recognize (Olson and Robinson). His record was overblown and padded, he fought all his fights other than 2 in Great Britain and if santana would come out and play I think that he might agree.

Good question Brent! Turpin was an oustanding fighter with good power. He was good enough to beat the great Sugar Ray Robinson once and nearly the second fight too! I believe he was the kind of fighter that would have been a difficult fight for any fighter. Hagler is one of the all time greats at middleweight with all the tools including an iron chin. This would be a contest of wills with both men trading a lot of punches with Hagler probably being a little more aggressive than Turpin. Hagler wins a very close decision in this one sir!

Good question. Turpin was Robinson's stylistic nemesis. The key in this battle would've been Hagler's ability to switch stances.
Hagler wins.

hagler has the edge in skills & power. he also has an anvil for a chin. finally, he's a southpaw. the combination is too much for turpin. hagler stops him in 9.

Hagler would of beaten anyone in his prime. Watch some of his classic fights. He stepped his game up when he had to.
