Leave him. The only thing that will come out of this is misery, and everything bad. If his control issues have come this far already to where visiting family is an issue.. If you continue to stay, you will find yourself alone. After a while of your friends and family seeing how controlling he is, and how much he interferes with simple things like a visit...you will end up alone, and miserable. For a little bit, friends and family will feel sorry for you, than after it becomes redundant, they will just leave you out of things altogether! This would be partly your fault because you have allowed this relationship to go on. You can't change him, nor is there anything miraculous that you can do to make him happy... If you continue with him, then I will assume that I should just wait for your next post on when you seek advice on when he starts to beat you!

He sounds very controlling. He is jealous that you are having fun without him. I'm guessing he doesn't want to go visit your family with you? I'd be thinking about finding a new boyfriend? What does y our family think about him? What about your friends? Did you know they suggest you let your best friends pick your boyfriends? This guy is not going to change and just imagine what he will be like when, or if, you guys have kids. He will not want to see you bond with the children. He sounds selfish and immature.

Dump him. That's all there is to it. Guys that are controlling like that are insecure in themselves and obviously think just because you want to be around someone else instead of them for a little while that you're going to cheat on them or do something that they don't "approve" of. No matter what he says it wont get any better, a lepord doesn't change its spots.

my boyfriend is probably just like yours. he doesnt get mad when i visit my family but i cant even hang out with my friends alone...he has to be there. he made me delete my myspace and facebook i dont have a cell phone. i feel like i have no personal identity im just his girlfriend. chick to chick....controlling bf's are no fun and it gets to a point where its just too much of a hassle. try talking to him even though it might not get you anywhere but at least you will know if you try. if he keeps it up i wanna say do what you want anyway...i should probably take my own advice. just dont let it get to the point where you isolate your family because if one day he's not there family will be. they always are.

You should get the hell out of that relationship NOW. If he's acting this way already .. goodness knows how things would be in the future. Save yourself some heartbreak an leave now.

Time to move out, the first sign of abusers is wanting to isolate you from your family, friends, support network

Ask him what the issue is. The key to any relationship is to talk things through. If he can't give you a reason then there's some deeper problem.

He is jealous, and wants to spend all his time with you, or he just doesn't want you to have a good time. You 2 need to sit down and discuss what the problem is.

Break up with him. You see he is controlling. It only gets worse unless you put your foot down and do whatever the hell it is you want anyway without his approval or walk away.
