In Newyork times Scolastic magizine Upfront i read an article that was saying how since there is no official national language alot of people in America want to addopt English as the official national language not that you would have to speakle it but to have it becuse just to have a national language but on the other hand a lot of people do not want English as the nationa official national language becuase as they have pointed out Okay so if America addopts a national language why make it English after all as they pointed out most people who live here were immigrents to start out either them or their ansetors so here is my question do you think that America should addopt English as our official national language or should we leave it as it is now
personally i think that America should addopt two languages as our official national languages both english and spanish becuse they are the most popular I mena other countrys have more then one official language and they do fine

The USA already uses English as the language of its government and legal system. Making it official, like France or England does, calls into question whether we can then spend government money to publish things in Spanish, Vietnamese, or other languages.
So, the language of the USA is English, but we do not deny our immigrants the help they need in their own languages while they are becoming American (which takes a generation).
I think that most of the people who want to make English the Official Language want to do so to make it more difficult for immigrants to assimilate here. I think they feel threatened by other cultures and want a return to an America they perceived as white and European.
I think we should not adopt an official language, or 2 or 3, but we should continue to use English for our government and laws, and use multiple languages where people need help.

I think that would be a good idea english and spanish that would make the most sense. but why do we need to have a national language anyhow. i dont see how this is going to change anything. I know most of the people that I talk to my included that if immagrants are going to come here they should take the time to learn the language so we can understand them. I know a lady that is from south africa and she didnt know english when she came here and now she does. she speaks very well. better then most people i know that came from over seas. people like her are the ones that do so much better with jobs and such because she knows about 4 different languages and she can also speak english and you can understand her just as if she was born here.

He's like a fantastic hipster. He already listens to Aesop Rock, does he particularly have got to faux to revel in his worst paintings? Does he particularly have got to be a vegetarian AND refuse some thing non healthy? I do not care if any one has a moderate case of hipster. I imply, I concentrate to relatively unknown song, I dislike a few chain eating places (Olive Garden, TGI Fridays), and I possess a bean bag chair. Am I a hipster? Maybe, however that man is only a massive douche, I do not care how quality he was once announcing matters.

We can't adopt English as the official language as long as people continue to decimate that language. Just look at your question. The whole long question doesn't have any punctuation at all and on the other hand numerous errors.

I believe that USA should have english as it's official language. We've had a long standing tradition of welcoming people from all round the globe to our shores, and it is only right that part of the price for that welcome is that all can be able to communicate in a common dialect.

I don't think America should have an "official language". We're a vegetable stew (not a melting pot) of cultures. Saying "majority wins" is really stupid.
