I don't know that many French names, but my favorite book is set in France (The Count of Monte Cristo). So I would suggest maybe Valentine, Rene, Louise, Eugenie, Haydee (pronounced High-dee) or Mercedes (if its a girl).
For a boy--Edmond, Louis, Noirtier (pronounced Nwa-tee-ay), Napoleon, Leclere (Lay-clair), Ferdinand, Maximilien, Albert (in French pronounced Al-bear), or Lucien. Or maybe Beauchamp (pronounced Bow-shawm).
I did always like the sound of the French accent and quite a few of the names (especially Noirtier and Mercedes).

Why not Mariposa, which is spanish for butterfly. Of course, as you know Papillon dogs are also known as butterfly dogs (and papillon IS french for butterfly). For an abbreviated name of Mariposa, you could nickname her Posey, Mari or any mix of cutesy names.
Congratulations on your new addition, she must be soooo adorable. Enjoy giving her tons of affection.
