I read fatpeoples question and apology yesterday. (a question for atheists) and agree with him and why are you atheists getting mad about it? You come on here posting insults to christians all the time calling them delusional, pathetic, retarded and even just stupid because of their religiuos beliefs, so why is it ok for you to insult but someone cant insult you back?
And please dont use that tired lame old excuse that all the christians force their veiws down your throat because we all know its just an excuse because you dont want to believe, wich is your right and should be respected but admit you do the same thing you acuse cthers of doing.The fact is that in this debate noone really knows whos right or wrong and we wont know til we die. If it turns out christians were right then good for us if were wrong and atheists are right then good for you, but since we dont know, why argue? (that last question is for atheists&christians)

Dude, yes I agree with you on this one, but not all of them are like that. Some of my good OL friends are non believers, I respect them and they respect me. I just usually ignore questions on here that are rude and such.

There are too many petty insults and ad hominems flying around, and it's coming from all sides. One can debate without being vicious. Unfortunately, once the first person casts his stone, others feel justified in hurling some back. I've done it myself.

First, although I think that Christianity is harmful and not based in reason, I don't think that Christians are generally stupid.

And, yes, Christians do try to force their beliefs down our throats. Don't even start to deny that. It's part of your "Great Commission" which was tacked onto Mark.

Also, it is not that we don't want to believe. We would love to believe it if it was true. We're just not convinced that it is true.

And, yes, I do know that I'm right. There's just too little evidence for any gods existing and too much evidence that it is man-made.

I have been watching and Atheists have one valid point. Most wars are stirred up and fought between religions. Now in reality the war can always be found to be about the love of money, but what happens is merchants see that the only way to mount a loyal army is to use religion as a motivation, because since spiritual things are very hard to put into words then they can insert their own twist and say lets you and him fight. Common thread in history is this.

Jesus kicked the merchants out of the temple and yet in many religions we invite them in. Mistake. They get a foot hold because they see those who follow a religion as gullible and in truth most of mankind is gullible but those who accumulate find ways to twist the gullible and use religion to do it and in the end reap the harvest of mamon.

Scriptures all provide methods of stopping this from happening but the rekligious like all groups want to hear what they already believe instead of listening to messages that would cause them to change. EXAMPLE, A DISENFRANCHISED aRAB YOUTH WANTS TO HEAR THINGS ARE UNFAIR SO LETS FIGHT AND MAKE THEM FAIR, OH LOOK HERE AT THIS SCRIPTURE AND JUST IGNORE THE MAJOR PORTION THAT SAYS AGGRESSION AND KILLING INNOCENTS IS WRONG, WHY CUZ THAT IS WHAT HE WANTS TO HEAR WE ARE NO BETTER WE IGNORE SCRIPTURE THAT SAYS ACCUMULATION IN BARNS IS WRONG AND PROMOTE A SOCIETY AND ECONOMY BASED ON GREED WHICH CAUSES THE ARAB YOUNG TO BE DISENFRANCHISED.

The methods prescribed are accoutability doctrines found among other places in Mat. 18 and the letters to TIM. The leadership is included in the accountability and that is why it does not get taught. Thinking popularity is a good way to choose teachers is a big mistake cuz the fact is a good spiritual teacher will by definition not be popular.

I asked a question here earlier this week something like are there any Christians willing to practice accountability as explained in scripture I got 2 answers and one of them was no because that person wanted to choose their preacher. THINK ABOUT THIS, ATHEISTS CALL US INTO ACCOUNT BECAUSE OF A BIBLICAL TRUTH, WE AS CHRISTIANS OFTEN ARE ARE LED ASTRAY, WE HAVE PRESCRIBED METHODS TO STOP THIS AND YET BECAUSE THE FLESH RUNS OUR INSTITUTIONS WE WILL CONTINUE TO ALLOW MERCHANTS TO INFILTRATE OUR CHURCHES AND TALK US INTO WARS, AGGRESION AND OTHER BEHAVIORS SPECIFICALLY PROHIBITED IN SCRIPTURE.


IN ESSENSE WHAT I SAY IS LISTEN TO THE ATHEISTS,, READ YOUR BIBLE AND ILLIMINATE THOSE CRITICISMS THAT ARE VALID (BY CHANGING OUR ACT) AND THE CHALLENGES THAT ARE IN ERROR FIND OUT THE TRUTH FOR YOURSELF, BY READING YOUR SCRIPTURE, NOT BY ALLOWING SOMEONE WHO MIGHT HAVE A HIDDEN AGENDA TELL YOU WHAT YOU WANT TO HEAR. LISTEN TO GOD FOR YOURSELVES AND WHEN ATHEISTS START TO SEE THE SPIRITUAL PEOPLE ACTING IN TRULY RIGHTEOUS FATHION THEY WILL BECOME YOUR MOST VALUABLE ASSET.
THIS IS TRUE BECAUSE THEY ARE THE ONES WHO WILL SPOT THE WOLF IN SHEEPS CLOTHING FIRST, THE VERY QUALITY WE AS CHRISTIANS LACK THE ABILITY TO DO.

These accusations can fly back and forth all day -- and they will.

There will always be people of every faith who will be rude, condescending and disrespectful.

There will always be people of every faith who will be polite, interested and respectful.

Focus on the latter and not the former and maybe we will *all* learn something here.

Hey I'm such an easy going, anti-drama athiest....I don't care who believes/posts what but when you write things like this (even though you are intending well) it just stirs up more trouble in an already troubled topic.....lets just all be happy for ourselves and everyone else, no matter what without stirring things up or taking sides. :) Peace & happiness <3

i love it when you christians go around accusing us atheist of doing all these things and then get all but hurt when we we call you out for doing the same thing. at least we don't go around reporting every question that isn't pro our point of view. if you can't take the heat stay out of the kitchen.

The double standard is rampant among our society today, and not just in matters of religion. It's in all aspects of life. I think you're right on though.

We may not "know" until we die, but we can make some pretty good assumptions based on scientific knowledge.
