There is both Biblical and non Biblical evidence. Josephus was a Jewish historian of his day. Never a christian BTW. He gave an account of Jesus is his record. Biblically, David the King wrote a Psalm all about the crucifixion a method of execution not used until the Romans invented it some 500 years later. Proof there is not. If there were we would all be damned because proof makes faith of no effective and people as saved by the grace of God through faith. Without faith we die... Jim

Are you kidding? There is a ton of evidence proving Jesus existed. There is simply not enough room to write it all here but you can find it in the chapter on 'historical evidence about Jesus Christ' in the book "The Signature of God" by Grant Jeffrey.

. Jesus is mentioned briefly by a contemporary Roman, non-Christian historian, who had no reason to create a record of a fictitious Jewish sect leader. There really is reason to think that Jesus did not exist. The only debate is over whether he was the son of G_d. There is no doubt that the religion founded under his name has come to be one of the most nurturing movements in the world, in spite of the wrongs which have been done it its name. Even those who do not embrace the belief that Jesus was the son of G_d should recognize and cherish the work of believers like Mother Teresa.
. Most people who believe in Jesus do so because they were taught by their parents to believe in Jesus. The teachings of parents are the reason for most beliefs, whether about religion, politics, the reality of the moon landings, the merits of the ethnic groups, etc.

Good grief dude. The bible is not the only thing that talks about the existence of Jesus Christ.

Where you been,under a rock?

The question is not whether Jesus existed or not. It's did he actually defeat death, hell, and the grave?Did he actually resurrect? Was he the true son of God?

Let me guess, you are one of those people who have to have a picture or something? All you would do is say it's a forgery.

Jesus is not going to come down her and say "here I am" just so you will believe.

Jesus Christ said:Blessed are those who believe and have not seen.

What planet are you from? There is conclusive evidence that a man named Jesus walked the earth in the time frame the bible ascribed Him. However, I think your question should be "Why do so many people believe Jesus is the Son of God" That takes a step of faith, but the mere existence of Jesus being here on earth is already proven.

"Proof" is in the eye of the beholder, because for most of us who are Christians, the Bible is all the proof we need. But, even beyond that, I'm the PROOF...

Exhibit A

I survived a growth in my throat at age 4 the if swallowed, would have killed me.

Exhibit B

from childhood to my teenage years, I made more bad decisions, childish errors etc and by his grace, I didn't succumb to any of the traps the devil tried to set, to put my life on a collision course with drugs, genetic curses and emotional/social ills.

Exhibit C

I believe that Jesus died on the cross for my sins and I believe he is coming again. And I put my TOTAL faith in this, because I have NO THING to lose by doing so, but EVERY THING to lose if I don't; ASK YOURSELF WHAT DOES IT COST YOU TO BELIEVE, NOW OR LATER, when you stand before him...the bible says that EVERY knee shall bow and tongue confess that HE is Lord.

I believe there will be a number of people in Hell (and hell is not some red devil dwelling with a man in a red suit), due to this new wave in society where you want some "logical explanation" for all things pertaining to Christ. But yet, you don't over analyze how the seasons change, how lay down at night and wake evey morn, how money comes to pay bills, when you're on your last dime, how you manage not to lose your mind, when every circumstance around you is coming undone! That peace that passes ALL understanding and come from within is NOTHING but Jesus...

"No evidence to prove" is perhaps the primary reason people do believe...there is a sense of mystery, a poetic beauty and seeking; the heart of a believer does not ask for proof, but for the ability to understand and grow their belief into faith, and greater faith, and then into a discerning assurance, deep in their core.

I believe there was a man named Jesus, and while I do not believe in the dogma/interpretation of Christianity, I believe his teaching is primary, and extends to all, regardless their belief.

Even History has Jesus, that he existed. You need to read History to find Jesus. The Evidence is "Historical Jesus" Read it. and then, do come and tell us about it. We would love to hear from you. WE believe because we have Faith in the Creator of the Universe who sent us His only begotten Son, to be our Savior and Redeemer!

There is factual evidence that Jesus existed in Roman historical
records which are known to be excruciatingly accurate. You can
dispute the Divine nature of Jesus but not the fact that he existed

Mark Twain said it better than I could:

"In religion and politics people's beliefs and convictions are in almost every case gotten at second-hand, and without examination, from authorities who have not themselves examined the questions at issue but have taken them at second-hand from othe non-examiners, whose opinions about them were not worth a brass farthing."

Additional:

I could not believe what I am saw. There where no answers when I began writing. By the time I posted, about twenty, and ALL were clueless godbots without a smidgen of education on the facts. I've never given so many "thumbs down" at one time.
