You are weird ! We have always kissed on the lips. But then we confine our kissing to family and very close friends. We do not hug and kiss people that we have just met or known for a short time because we see it as too familiar. And we don't kiss Grandparents on the lips,as a matter of respect. The males don't kiss each other at all, that's where the handshake comes in. All this continental cheek kissing mwah mwah? What's that all about? It's false is what it is.

I have an 8 year old and a 3 year old, I kiss them both on the lips, always have, and as long as they don't find it weird then I will continue to do so. And I do still hold my 8 year olds hand explishly when crossing a busy street, or if we have to walk down a street that has no side walk, but thats for safty.

im a mum of 4,my kids are 12/9/6/4,
if my kids want a kiss on the lips then i will kiss them on the lips, when i say KISS,i mean a peck on the lips,my 12yr old is a different story,i kiss him on his cheek,as for my other 3 kids, when they come to kiss me they always kiss me on the lips, there is no harm in that im there mother for gods sake,if people want to look at that any differently well there the sick ones,i love my kids more than anything in the world,iv brought my kids up to be loving,it is NOT incest, its a bond a mother has with there child, what is this world coming to when people are thinking these sorts of things.

I'm really glad you posted this question 'cos I don't like to see parents kissing their children on the lips. It gives me the creeps. I have a friend who is separated from his wife. He has his two little girls at the week-end. The youngest is aged 3 and he is always kissing her, stroking her face and fussing her. He sat with her on his lap for hours the other day. It's like watching lovers and I feel really uncomfortable with it. Both the girls sleep in bed with him too. I thought that I was at fault, that I was the only one who finds this sort of thing difficult to deal with. Glad you feel the same way. Thank you so much.

I think it just depends on your raising. I kiss both of my sons on the lips, they're 5 years and 8 months. but once they get older, especially around the time of puberty, I don't think I'd be comfortable with that anymore, because I don' feel comfortable kissing my parents on the lips.

Yes. My Grandparents who raised me, did it to me, and I do it to my children. I guess that it is how you are brought up.

You can't always tell if a child is handicapped or mentally challenged by looking at him/her. I have a 14 year old autistic son who looks perfectly normal. You wouldn't know anything was wrong with him until you got into a conversation with him. Also, a lot of disabled children are very insecure in crowds and like to hold on to a parents hand for comfort. My son is 5' 10" and weighs 180lbs.

Yes! It's too weird. Kissing to me is a passionate thing to be shared with someone romantically.
When my daughter and I kiss, we kiss each other on the cheek at the same time.

It's you. My 3-year old kisses me on the lips. Suppose it's what she sees and she copies. I thouht it was weird at first but now it don't bother me no more. She takes the lead on this one for now. She has enough to get her head around without giving her some adult complex of decency too.

Yes. I can't imagine the day I can't kiss my little boy on the lips. He'll let me know when he's done with it I suppose.

Kissing is a sign of LOVE and not just EROS love. I still kiss my mom on the lips and my sister too (only if I haven't seen her is years and my love for her overwhelms me).

obviously from the replies it's not just you who finds it weird. it is perfectly normal especially with little kids who instigate kissess on the lips..as they get older they naturally gravitate towards a cheek or forehead anyway. each kid is different, my ten year old grabs my hand when we are out sometimes and he is "normal"..of course he drops it if he thinks anyone is coming, but its his choice.it would be more damaging for me to make an issue of it.
