Well, each Anti-Virus has its pros and cons and even the test results of the websites and magazines which reviews the antivirus software will defer from time to time.

If you have budget then go for either Norton Anti Virus (though it slows down your system) or Quick Heal (quite faster and less memory hogger). But if you want a FREE software for personal use then go for AVG. I have been using it now for more than a year without any problems.

Hope this will help you...

The best antivirus are Norton & Mcafee, but both highly consume your system resources. And neither of them is free. so for personal use I recommend to use AVG. You can download its FREE version from the net. It is best free antivirus available till date. you can also get online update to be protected against newly discovered threats.

The best anti-virus software is by far NOD32. I have been using it for about 6 months. It will find mallicious code AS SOON as it comes into contact with your system.

AVG and Mccafe are of the same league.Mccafe is smarter and has a larger virus database than AVG but AVG is free and almost as good.
