I have been in exactly the same situation as you. Met someone while I was away, kept in contact for a while. They say two things can happen. Being apart make the heart grow fonder and being apart makes the heart wonder.
At the start I really missed the person, after a few months, I realised that what I had done was stupid, not just because of the distance. It really is up to you, but I personally say, get to know people that live near you, that you can easily spend time with, and don't have to worry about travelling too much.
Good Luck.

I was in a long distance relationship once which I had to end because, not being able to see and be with this guy as much as I wanted to started bringing longing and pain-full emotions out of me that hurt and made me sad. I didn't like feeling that way all the time. But follow your own heart. Good luck!

If he wants to continue it and is making plans to visit you, keep it going for a year and see if he proposes. Visit him one time for every three times he visits you. If you love him and he loves you, that's that. However, if he isn't planning on visiting you and you are going to him, stop immediately and see what he does.
