My girlfriend recently moved away. We had raised a litter of kittens since they were 2 days old. When she moved i had to take her cat to my house. I had one of the other kittens from the litter at my house. They are six months old, and she is spayed. I opened my door last night and she ran out and then ran away from me and i could not find her. Normally she likes me, but since i brought her to my house all she does is hide and growl at me and my other cat. Do you guys think there is any chance she'll come back. Note that she was only here for two days, does not know where she is, and has never been outside. I have left her favorite foods outside for her to no avail, it has been a good 15 - 16 hours now.

thanks for your responses
dont be hopeful, just be honest

I'd say there's a 50/50 chance you'll find her...maybe less if she had no ID tag on her and was not microchipped. I would put up some signs and visit animal shelters in the area. An animal shelter near you may even have a humane trap you could try to catch her in.

Cats get very attatched to places and moving can be very stressful and scary for them. I hope you find your kitty!!!!!

well if it's been only 2 day's she probably wont come back cause she don't know where she is. usually you have to keep them in the house for like 1-2 week's before then start to go outside. but you never know she may come back. cat's are really that stupid. they may be some hope. but if she hasn't came back yet then probably not. why don't you put flyer's around about the cat. and if you have a picture try to put it on there so that way people know what she look's like. if you don't have one then just describe her what she look's like. i would hate to see something happen to the cat. good luck!

About 30 years ago, I had a newly adopted cat slip out the door and go missing. The vet said to put the litter box outside on the porch. They can smell it for more than a mile. In a sense, you are using her own scent to guide her home. Worked for me. Hope it helps. You might also check out your girlfriends old addie, just in case it was close enough for her to go back home.

Well I would give her a few days, sometimes they run, but usually their stomach brings them home. I recently moved my cats, and you would be surprised how they can find the house even though it is new territory, is it cold there? Tonight try calling the cat when it is dark and the area has settled down with people traffic. Good Luck, cats are so stubborn.

Cats are territorial animals. To my understanding they also have a good memory. She may know exactly where your girlfriend's house is, and I would guess that her house and the surrounding area would be the best place to look. I would think so because that is the cat's territory still and she wants to go back to it. I don't know if you'll find her there or not, but it seems to me to be your best chance.

How far away did you move her? She may have tried to find her way back home because she doesn't want to live in the other cat's house. A neighbor of mine moved & left his cat. No one can get near it & we've seen it here & there for over a year. I tried leaving food out for it but my cat got P'd at me. Cats are very territorial!

It sounds like she's upset, but she could return at any point once she realizes your home means food and shelter. Have you tried putting up some lost cat signs in the neighborhood? Sounds corny, but it's likely someone has seen her. She could be genuinely lost and trying to find her way back home.
Good luck to you!

She will probably try to find her "mommy"(your girlfriend).
